Kai Cenat Makes History as First Streamer to Sign Major Deal with Nike

In a groundbreaking move, Kai Cenat has become the first streamer to sign a major deal with Nike. This marks a significant shift in the cultural landscape, as streamers are now being recognized as popular and influential figures, on par with the biggest names in sports and entertainment.

With an impressive 10.8 million followers on Instagram and 86.5 million subscribers on Twitch, Cenat’s relatable and comedic personality has been key to his appeal to everyday audiences.

The native New Yorker recently made an appearance in a hype post for Nike’s highly anticipated Air Max 1 “Low Poly” silhouette. The shoe, released under Nike’s .SWOOSH web3 platform, stays true to the iconic design of Tinker Hatfield’s 1987 classic, with a few modern updates.

The most notable change is the Swoosh, which has been altered to resemble the graphics of a ’90s video game. This geometric aesthetic continues throughout the shoe, with a gradient pattern of grey pixel squares bleeding into the toe box.

No detail has been spared, as the shoe also features digitized branding on the tongue and a “Push/Start” callout on the insole. To unveil the sneaker, Cenat and Nike created a visually stunning white cubicle filled with arcade games, a leopard-patterned floor, and retro desk accessories, giving the illusion that the streamer had stepped into a video game.

The Nike Air Max 1 “Low Poly” will be available for preorder on October 8th, 2024 for $150 USD. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history and step into the world of retro gaming with this must-have sneaker.
