An Army of Kiss Boots Takes Over Paris for Rick Owens’ Spring 2025 Show
Paris’ Palais de Tokyo was invaded by an army of Kiss Boots on Thursday evening as Rick Owens presented his highly anticipated Spring 2025 collection. The front row was filled with A-listers like Cardi B and Michèle Lamy, while the rest of the audience donned Owens’ signature otherworldly designs.
Similar to his previous “White Satin Army of Love” show, Owens enlisted models from various fashion schools in Paris to walk alongside his loyal friends and employees. The grand staircase of the venue was transformed into a holy procession, with groups of models showcasing different styles inspired by Owens’ search for his people in the “Boulevard of Vice.”
The collection paid homage to flamboyant characters of Hollywood’s past, with delicate silk chiffon capes, trashed denim, and transposable zip jackets. The iconic inflatable Kiss Boots from last season were revamped with added shin cargopacks, and there was even a line of black charmeuse robes designed by Dafne Balatsos, who has been working with Owens for 25 years.
Owens’ show notes emphasized the importance of embracing our commonalities in the face of intolerance, and this sentiment was reflected in the diverse runway cast and the unifying design codes of the collection.
