The 24 Heures du Montauk: A Must-Attend Event for Car Enthusiasts

The fourth edition of the 24 Heures du Montauk recently took place, and it did not disappoint. This exclusive, invite-only rally has quickly become a favorite among automotive enthusiasts, offering a unique blend of rare automobiles, stunning coastal views, and a relaxed, intimate atmosphere.

Co-founded by Rory Tait of Rally and Hootan “Hootie” Rashidifard from Valve & Piston, the event kicked off at artist Daniel Arsham’s Bridgehampton studio. With 150 guests and 65 carefully curated vehicles, the rally covered 40 miles through the Hamptons, ending at Dive Bar Pizza in Montauk.

But this is no ordinary rally. The 24 Heures du Montauk is all about the experience of driving and connecting with fellow car lovers. As Tait puts it, “It’s about the people and stories as much as it is about the cars.” This laid-back vibe and focus on shared passion have made it a highlight for those lucky enough to attend.

Of course, the cars themselves also played a significant role in the excitement of the event. From vintage classics to cutting-edge supercars, the lineup was impressive. Italian race car driver Luca Betti even piloted his Kimera Automobili Evo37, while Ferrari F50 and F40 models shared the road with modern marvels like two Ferrari 812 Competiziones. Arsham also showcased his artistic flair with his RUF RCT Carbon Evo and a striking Vanilla Yellow Porsche 993 Carrera S. Other standout cars included an Aston Martin DBR2, Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, Porsche 959, and a Bugatti Chiron.

But the rally wasn’t just a display of rare cars. It offered a unique opportunity for owners to experience their vehicles as they were meant to be driven. As Rashidifard explains, “We wanted to create an event that’s not just about the cars, but about the experiences — the sounds, the smells, the motion.” Arsham also shared his excitement about the event, stating, “I was happy to host the start of the rally from my garage. It’s an event I look forward to every year, getting together with friends in the community and seeing some incredible cars.”

And it’s not just the founders and participants who are raving about the 24 Heures du Montauk. Anthony Serra, the founder of 1600Veloce, also shares his enthusiasm, saying, “The 24h is one of my highlight events to attend. It’s the perfect blend of cars and people, with participants coming from the tri-state area and beyond.”

Despite being one of the newest rally events on the scene, the 24 Heures du Montauk shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, it continues to solidify its name as a serious event, with increased sponsorship from major players like Graniteshares, Sotheby’s Motorsport, Singer Vehicle Design, and more. With this added support, we can expect to see the event become even more popular in the automotive lifestyle category in the years to come.
