BEAMS PLUS and Engineered Garments Team Up for USA-Made Sweats Capsule
Two iconic brands, BEAMS PLUS and Engineered Garments, have joined forces once again to bring us a must-have capsule collection. This collaboration marks the second drop in the revival of their joint PEG line, and the final product is a range of USA-made sweats that perfectly blend the Japanese brand’s eye for American tradition with the NY-based studio’s practical construction.
Unconventional Details and “Quiet Luxury” Define the Collection
While Engineered Garments is known for its expertise in woven garments, this collection showcases their ability to incorporate unique details like thoughtfully placed pockets and metal snap closures. The brand’s signature play with formality is evident in the kangaroo pocket placed at the back of the tops and the adjustable collar strap at the neck of the hoodies. These unexpected elements add to the collection’s overall “quiet luxury” feel.
Minimal Colorways Allow for Optimal Layering
The capsule is available in two colorways: heather gray and classic navy blue. This minimal approach not only adds to the collection’s understated aesthetic, but also allows for optimal layering. The campaign’s cozy styling showcases how these pieces can be effortlessly layered for a stylish and comfortable look.
The Revival of the PEG Moniker
The PEG moniker was used for joint projects between BEAMS PLUS and Engineered Garments throughout their longtime partnership that began in the early 2000s. After a brief hiatus, the name was brought back to life in 2024 with the release of a PEG Chambray shirt in late August. This latest capsule collection continues the legacy of the PEG line and showcases the strong collaboration between these two brands.
