Vans and Dime Team Up Again for a Custom Edition of the Vans Mixxa with Skater Una Farrar

Last year, they joined forces to reissue the Rowley XLT, and now Vans and Dime are back at it again. This time, they have collaborated to create a custom edition of the Vans Mixxa with Vancouver-based skater Una Farrar.

The all-black sneaker, designed to be a “daily driver,” features a signature SickStick™ rubber sole, DURACAP™ rubber underlays, a thick tongue, wide laces, big heel tabs, and a plethora of special details. These include a warped iteration of Vans’ iconic checkered pattern on the collar and midfoot. Farrar also added her own personal touch with a custom clover hit on the lateral forefoot overlay, paying homage to her Irish heritage. Dime’s woodmark takes over the heel, adding to the unique design of the shoe. And to top it off, Farrar’s own drawings decorate the co-branded insoles.

In a statement, Farrar expressed her excitement about the collaboration, saying, “I wanted the colorway of the Mixxa to be quiet and clean so anybody can wear it. Black and gum is subtle and classic. It is a huge honor to see my name on a shoe and share it with brands I’m inspired and aligned with. I like the nostalgic silhouettes of the early 2000s, so the Mixxa was a perfect fit. I added a little extra luck on the side with the clover.”

The Vans Mixxa by Una Farrar and Dime will be released via Dime on September 21, and will then be available in select Vans Skateboarding stores on September 26. Check out the design in the gallery above and get ready to snag a pair for yourself.
