Chopova Lowena: The Gothic Dollhouse of London Fashion Week SS25
Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena-Irons, the dynamic British duo behind Chopova Lowena, continue to impress and evolve with each passing season. Their latest collection for Spring/Summer 2025 was no exception, as they returned to London Fashion Week to showcase their gothic vision in a darkened house in the heart of the city.
The disheveled building served as the perfect backdrop for Chopova Lowena’s SS25 range, with its peeling walls and eerie atmosphere. The collection itself was a stunning display of black and white hues, with flamboyant ruffles and intricate details that are signature to the brand.
Titled “Chuckaboo,” the collection paid tribute to friendship with coordinating looks in opposite hues. The first two looks featured disarranged and voluminous paneling adorned with metallic butterfly pins, swapping shades step by step. Sheer bodysuits with enlarged shoulder pads added a touch of sensuality, while sinister cowboys came to life in embellished uniforms fit for a fashion rodeo.
The collection also featured disconnected babydoll dresses with tulle skirt attachments, as well as tops emblazoned with the phrase “CHECK OUT MY CHANGE” and adorned with metal coins. Youthful embellishments were pinned to sizable skirts, featuring three-dimensional horses, rabbits, and foxes, contrasted by hanging ancient keys on studded aprons.
But it wasn’t just the clothing that caught the eye at Chopova Lowena SS25. The accessories were equally impressive, with models strutting down the runway in the brand’s brand-new floral-embellished ASICS collaboration, complete with metal spheres and slashed insect wings for a haunting aura. And for those who couldn’t get enough of the brand’s signature leather bags, they were seen carrying bottles of Hellmann’s mayonnaise, hinting at a possible condiment collaboration in the works.
