Marco Capaldo: From Darkness to Light
London Fashion Week has been graced with the return of designer Marco Capaldo, who has emerged from the shadows with a newfound sense of lightness. After facing numerous challenges in recent years, including the loss of his partner Federica Cavenati, Capaldo has channeled his experiences into his eponymous label, 16Arlington.
For Spring/Summer 2025, Capaldo has unveiled a collection titled “The Heat,” which exudes a youthful and carefree energy in soft sunset hues. The show, held at London’s Royal Academy, was a sensory experience with the air scented by Diptyque’s mimosa and floral notes. As the models walked down the mystical runway, biodegradable confetti rose up with each step.
The collection opened with vibrant shades of yellow, adorning lightweight trench coats, flowy pencil skirts, and belted mid-length dresses with contrasting collars. Leather moto uniforms revealed metal-plated bras underneath, while sheer tanks and suede trousers added a touch of animalistic energy with red snakeskin handbags.
But it was the brand’s signature feathered frocks that stole the show, this time reimagined with playful fringe and gradient-hued feathers. Sequined ensembles added a touch of sex appeal, while monstrous fur coats paired with miniature hot pants created a sensual look.
