Ukrainian-Born Designer Natasha Zinko Takes London Fashion Week by Storm with Outlandish SS25 Collection
Natasha Zinko, the Ukrainian-born designer based in London, is anything but ordinary. With each collection, she pushes the boundaries and challenges conventional fashion norms. And her Spring/Summer 2025 collection is no exception, as she explores unattainable beauty standards with a bold and daring “PLASTIC” runway.
Zinko’s show was like no other, as she transformed the venue into an otherworldly surgery clinic. The collection delved into the world of beauty-enhancing procedures, shedding light on the often hidden before and after process that dominates social media. The energy was apocalyptic, with show-goers eagerly anticipating the designer’s signature shock factor.
The show opened with 46 looks that mimicked invasive procedure processes. Models strutted down the runway in surgical vests, carrying cleaning gauzes and lit-up iPhones. The collection then progressed to pre-wet button-downs paired with double-waisted short shorts, and coordinating white uniforms with plastic arm bags. Whimsical and reconstructed underwear dresses added a touch of playfulness to the otherwise intense atmosphere.
As the show continued, multi-armed tops and gingham capris were followed by graphic “top-up” tees and deconstructed sweatpants. The audience was then treated to a display of exposed breast implants and bandaged straight jackets, accessorized with bold black eye makeup. Models even sported jaw straps for facial containment, along with nude compression socks and “WHO’S YOUR SURGEON?” mock dresses that left no room for subtlety.
Zinko’s creativity knew no bounds as she manipulated denim and other materials, creating uneven silhouettes that were both eye-catching and thought-provoking. The entire collection was a commentary on society’s obsession with perfection and the extreme measures people take to achieve it.
