Priya Ahluwalia Returns to London Fashion Week with a Soulful Tribute to African Heritage
Priya Ahluwalia has once again graced the London Fashion Week stage with her latest collection for Spring/Summer 2025, titled “Home Sweet Home.” The designer’s eponymous label, AHLUWALIA, paid homage to her roots and the “soulful ties between identity and home” with a stunning presentation at Westminster Church House.
A Vibrant and Intricate Collection
AHLUWALIA’s 31-look collection was a feast for the eyes, featuring a mix of floral crochet, geometric patterns, and graphic silk uniforms. The pieces were drenched in vibrant tones and showcased the label’s signature intricate designs. The collection struck a balance between elegant formality and athletic influences, with cross-stitched ball gowns, asymmetrical knitted tops, and football gear adorned with striking ornamentation.
A Journey Through Colors and Textures
The collection began with an ocean of blues, transitioning into darker and sheer party wear that revealed nude torsos underneath. Glossy silk dresses with twisted details shined under the spotlight, while thong-strung low-rise pants created a blossoming chess board effect. The journey continued with beaded co-ords for men and printed denim featuring diagrammatic laser indentations.
AHLUWALIA’s Signature Style
The London-based label took a break from the runway to play ball, showcasing half-zip jerseys and lace-trimmed tracksuits with swirling black panels. The collection was a true representation of AHLUWALIA’s unique and bold aesthetic, with a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements.
