Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East: The Unstoppable Force in British Fashion
Get ready to meet the next generation of UK designers, because Fashion East is back and better than ever. Led by the unstoppable Lulu Kennedy, this powerhouse platform has nurtured countless top-tier designers and continues to shine a spotlight on emerging talent in the industry. And for Spring/Summer 2025, Fashion East welcomed three new runway faces, including the return of Olly Shinder for his second season.
The runway was set in East London’s Truman Brewery, against a backdrop of peeling cement. And let us tell you, the collections were nothing short of sensational. Olly Shinder debuted his sophomore on-schedule collection with 17 sensually apocalyptic looks. Think gothic nautical uniforms, with blackened ensembles accessorized with stripped neck scarves. Oversized and exposed shorts were strung up by crossed suspenders against nude torsos, followed by khaki co-ords, collared athletic tracksuits, and navy costumes with braided whips.
Next up was Nuba, showcasing their SS25 “SIM” collection, featuring their signature draping techniques. The range started with long-sleeve dress shirts turned upside down, with sensual chest cutouts. Hooded tops, puffed dresses, and slashed maxi skirts in glistening silk followed suit.
And last but certainly not least, Loutre took the stage, expanding on its skateboarding roots with dynamic streetwear that is taking over British avenues. The collection was a fusion of New York and London, with enlarged fur coats and distressed baseball caps kicking off the show. Draped blazers were paired with glossy trousers, followed by fur-trimmed tracksuits, cable-knit zip-ups, and drawstring-heavy workwear jackets. And let’s not forget the studded jorts and paneled trench coats that added an edgy touch to the collection.
