Asian-American Designer Chet Lo Takes London Fashion Week by Storm with SS25 Collection

Chet Lo, the rising star of the fashion world, is making waves with his latest collection at London Fashion Week. The Asian-American designer, known for his edgy spiked knitwear, is leading a revolution in the industry with his sensual and powerful designs.

After graduating from Lulu Kennedy’s prestigious Fashion East program, Chet Lo has firmly established himself on the London Fashion Week schedule. This season, he kicked off the event with a heartfelt tribute to unstoppable female figures, including his own mother, Mai-Wah Cheung.

Cheung, a disruptive force in the fields of computer science, digital media, art, and education, has inspired Lo’s SS25 collection titled “Mai’s Blossoms.” The collection features 31 looks that pay homage to Cheung’s strength and adaptability, reinterpreting her structural office wardrobe with Lo’s signature spikes and soft draping techniques.

The collection opens with sheer organza dresses adorned with digitalized “glitch” patterns, a nod to Cheung’s reign in technology. Textured knitwear in black and blue adds a touch of contemporary edge, while asymmetrical skirts and translucent knee panels give a fresh twist to corporate attire.

Other standout pieces include cloaked mini dresses with uneven head coverings, sharpened evening attire, and manipulated pleated trousers. The collection also features zippered onesies with knotted belts, adding a touch of playfulness to the overall aesthetic.

Finally, Cheung’s current artistic inspirations are reflected in delicate fruit ornamentations, bringing a touch of whimsy to the collection. The show concludes with Chet Lo taking his final bow hand-in-hand with his mother, Mai-Wah Cheung.
