Update: Jordan Brand’s Holiday Drops Cancelled, But Fear Not, “Black Cat” Air Jordan 5 Still Set to Pounce
As the holiday season approaches, sneakerheads eagerly await the latest drops from Jordan Brand. However, recent news from MrUnloved1s has revealed that several highly anticipated releases have been cancelled, including the Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat” and the Air Jordan 3 “Brown Cement.” But fear not, there are still plenty of exciting drops to look forward to, including the return of the Air Jordan 4 “Fear.”
Original Story: The Ever-Expanding Lineage of Jordan Brand’s Iconic “Black Cat” Finish
Each year, Jordan Brand offers a mix of new and familiar colorways, creating a balance that keeps fans on their toes. One series that has gained a cult following is the all-black “Black Cat” finish, which first appeared on the Air Jordan 4 in 2006 and has since been featured on other popular silhouettes like the 6 and 13. Now, according to industry insiders zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files, the “Black Cat” treatment is making its way to the Air Jordan 5 (pictured above in a mock-up created by the two leakers). While details on the colorway are still scarce, it’s safe to assume that it will feature a mix of black and dark gray accents throughout the sneaker. Sneaker Files also speculates that the shoe will have a nubuck upper, based on its designation as an SE release. As of now, Jordan Brand has not officially announced the release of the Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat,” but stay tuned for updates and a first look at the shoe. We can’t wait to see this highly coveted colorway hit shelves this holiday season, available at Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
