Pharrell Williams Takes Over Tiffany & Co. with New Pearl Collection
After the success of his debut Tiffany Titan range, Pharrell Williams is back with a new collection that is sure to make a splash. This time, the multihyphenate artist is going full pearl, drawing inspiration from his love for water and the mythical sea god, Poseidon.
In his previous statement about the Tiffany Titan collection, Pharrell explained, “The inspiration of the collection comes from my affinity with the water, and the name of the collection, ‘Titan,’ draws influence from Poseidon, ruler of the sea, King of Atlantis.” He also shared that the name “Atlantis” holds a special meaning for him as it is the name of the community where he grew up in Virginia Beach.
Known for his love of Japanese culture, Pharrell also incorporated the belief that pearls are created from the tears of mythical water creatures into his designs. This led him to gravitate towards using pearls as a way to express his connection to water.
The latest addition to the collection features an 18-karat gold necklace adorned with pearls and diamonds, staying true to the signature spike motif seen in the Tiffany Titan designs. The pearls used in this collection are over 11mm in size, adding a bold and luxurious touch to the pieces.
Standout pieces in the collection include a statement pearl bracelet and necklace, as well as a single pearl necklace and a pair of earrings. These designs perfectly complement Tiffany & Co.’s long history with pearls, making for a seamless collaboration between Pharrell and the iconic jeweler.
