British Fashion Designer Clare Waight Keller Takes UNIQLO by Storm with New Affordable Sub-Label and Creative Director Role
Last September, the fashion world was buzzing with excitement as British designer Clare Waight Keller teamed up with UNIQLO to launch a new womenswear sub-label, UNIQLO : C. Known for her signature design elements of fluidity, movement, and femininity, Waight Keller’s early releases were met with great success. And just last month, she expanded her offerings to include menswear, solidifying her place as a creative force within the brand.
In an interview with British Vogue, Waight Keller shared her plans to shake up the label and bring in new fashion shapes and silhouettes every other month to keep things fresh. She also aims to revamp UNIQLO’s signature color palette and introduce more exploratory patterns and cuts for a younger audience.
But it’s not just about clothing for Waight Keller. She also has plans to expand into footwear, with a focus on comfortable and stylish flat shoes. “That’s always the go-to, on the run, with travel,” she explained. “But there’s still not a good selection in the market. That’s a category that’s going to expand [at UNIQLO], as well.”
Fans of Waight Keller’s designs can expect to see her UNIQLO creations in stores later this year. In the meantime, take a look at her UNIQLO : C designs for a taste of what’s to come.
