Barbour Launches Fall/Winter 2024 Heritage+ Collection, Blending Tradition and Modernity

British lifestyle brand Barbour has once again proven its ability to seamlessly blend tradition and modernity with the launch of its Fall/Winter 2024 Heritage+ collection. Building on the success of its Spring/Summer 2024 staple range, the brand continues to infuse contemporary elements into its iconic archival silhouettes, fabrics, and construction methods.

According to menswear director Ian Bergin, Heritage+ is the epitome of Barbour’s authenticity. The collection features traditional construction techniques, including tartan liners and brass hardware, but with a fresh and directional attitude. By reissuing archive pieces and updating the fit to cater to today’s customer, Barbour has created a modern expression of its 130-year legacy.

For this season’s collection, Barbour drew inspiration from its extensive archive housed in its South Shields factory, where the brand was founded. The result is a refined lineup of practical clothing designed to be passed down through generations. The collection includes hero pieces like the Heritage Dry Fly Waterproof, which showcases a contemporary twist on heirloom styles with a new structural shape, technical materials, and additional components.

In addition to reinterpreting classic heritage pieces like the Spey waterproof coat and Bedale wax jacket, Barbour also introduces new models that incorporate popular modern trends. The Field Vertical Quilted jacket, for example, features striped seams inspired by military coats for a unique and alternative look.

To complete the collection, Barbour offers a range of mid-layer tops, including the Gansey crew neck sweater and boxy fit T-shirts with graphic designs from ’90s catalogs. These pieces, in the same earthy color palette as the outerwear, can be mixed and matched for any weather or outdoor adventure.

To celebrate the launch of the Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Barbour will be hosting a special event at its newly opened Neal Street store in London next week. Menswear director Ian Bergin will join Hypebeast and stylist Leon Cerrone for an intimate conversation about the brand’s 130th anniversary, the importance of innovation, and their favorite designs from the new collection, such as the Barbour Bedale wax trench coat. For more information on the panel talk, visit the dedicated Heritage+ hub. The collection is also available for purchase on the brand’s website.
