Umbro’s “Northern Quarter” Collection: A Fusion of Manchester Style and Sportswear Perfection

Umbro has done it again with their latest collection, “Northern Quarter,” which pays homage to the brand’s roots in Manchester. Combining classic designs with a modern twist, this line is a must-have for any fan of sportswear.

With inspiration drawn from the iconic music scene of Manchester, this season’s collection features bold prints and updated silhouettes. The Indie parka, a staple in the brand’s repertoire, now comes in a versatile khaki tone and a checkered version. The signature coach jacket has also been given a fresh update, with a fleece outer layer and Umbro’s iconic diamond logo emblazoned on top.

But Umbro hasn’t forgotten its ties to football. The collection includes a short-sleeved jersey with tape-edged sleeves and a geometric light blue pattern, paying tribute to the 1996 Britpop Derby between Blur and Oasis. And for fans of Manchester City and Manchester United, there are reversible crew tops in their signature colors, featuring bold graphics and minimal designs.

To round out the collection, there are monochromatic hoodies and t-shirts that perfectly complement the statement jackets. And in a new campaign featuring local musicians Ellie, James, and Time Flies, the garments are brought to life against the backdrop of their favorite Manchester spots, including the popular neighborhood bar Soup Kitchen.
