SILAS: The Iconic Streetwear Brand Returns with a Bang
Founded in 1998 in the bustling city of London, SILAS has made a grand comeback this year. The streetwear brand, known for its rebellious spirit and connection to youth counterculture, is back to captivate a new generation of outsiders. And leading the charge is none other than designer Taro Ray, the latest Creative Director of SILAS.
With Ray at the helm, SILAS is set to take the fashion world by storm with its upcoming 2026 Spring/Summer collection. The brand’s iconic street style aesthetic is getting a fresh burst of energy and creativity, promising to deliver a range of edgy and unique pieces.
To celebrate the relaunch, SILAS took to the streets of the trendy Le Marais district with eye-catching posters asking the question, “WHERE IS SILAS?” The posters led to an experiential launch party that featured live performances by indie singer-songwriter Gyeongsu, who wowed the crowd with a special acoustic set. The party also featured experiential producer Zulu and Tokyo-based artist Taro Imai, who added their own unique touch to the event.
The launch party was a nod to SILAS’ roots in the music scene and the arts. The venue was adorned with dissembled booklets and zines, inspired by vintage record pamphlets from the early 2000s, further highlighting the brand’s legacy in the music space.
Speaking about the brand’s relaunch, Ray shared, “SILAS was a brand I remembered seeing people wear at gigs in my teenage years. It was a brand that felt intertwined with the creative communities in London. Designed by them and worn by them. 20 years on, the people have changed, but the energy’s still here. My goal is to tell the same story with today’s music scene.”
With its renewed focus on the music and arts scene, SILAS is ready to make a statement once again. Keep an eye out for the upcoming 2026 Spring/Summer collection and follow the brand’s new direction here. Don’t miss out on the exciting journey ahead for SILAS.
