A New Twist on an Iconic Shoe: adidas Superstar Roller Skates
The adidas Superstar has been a cultural icon for over 50 years, gracing the feet of creatives, artists, and athletes alike. In fact, back in the ’70s, 75% of professional basketball players were rocking the low-top silhouette. In the ’80s and ’90s, hip-hop groups like Run DMC were endorsing the shoe, and in the 2000s, streetwear enthusiasts were all about it thanks to collaborations with brands like BAPE, UNION LA, and NEIGHBORHOOD.
But there’s one group that has never been a part of the Superstar craze – roller skaters. That is, until now. Leaked images from House of Heat reveal adidas’ latest innovation of their flagship shoe: a high-top version with a full set of wheels for roller-skating. The design features the classic leather upper, shell toe, and Three Stripes branding, with four adidas-branded wheels attached to the sole in all-black.
While adidas has not yet announced an official release date for the Superstar Roller Skates, it’s expected to hit the market in 2025.
