Mephisto Footwear: The Latest Collaboration with Procell
Mephisto footwear has been a go-to choice for tastemakers in the downtown New York City scene for years. Known for their high-quality materials, understated designs, and lack of flashy branding, Mephisto has gained a cult following among those in the know. And now, the brand is teaming up with one of those tastemakers for a highly-anticipated collaboration with vintage experts Procell.
The collaboration was recently teased on Instagram with a single post, giving fans a sneak peek at what’s to come. While it has yet to be confirmed, it appears that the collaboration will feature Mephisto’s Match silhouette, decked out in rich green suedes and leathers. But the standout detail? A custom Procell tongue tag, adding a unique touch to the classic design.
For the Procell team, this collaboration hits close to home. Co-founder Brian Procell is a well-known fan of Mephisto, often seen sporting various models from the brand. And this isn’t Procell’s first foray into footwear collaborations. In the past, they’ve worked with Nike on a muslin-covered Air Force 1 Low and put a pearlescent spin on the classic ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 as part of “The ASICS Collective” collaborative initiative led by Angelo Baque.
But Mephisto isn’t just focusing on this one collaboration. The brand is also teaming up with 18 East for two collaborative versions of their popular Rainbow sneaker, set to release in the coming months.
