Seattle-born Filson and Birkenstock Team Up for First-Ever Collection
Two iconic brands, Filson and Birkenstock, have joined forces to create a unique and unexpected collaboration. The debut collection showcases their shared values of quality craftsmanship and functional design, as well as their rich histories.
The collection features three rustic styles that combine Birkenstock’s renowned footbed with Filson’s woodland-inspired aesthetics. The London Methow, named after the original London model, boasts a tumbled leather upper, speckled cork sole, and brushed metal loop fastenings. For a city-ready option, the collection also includes a low-top shoe made of suede in rich brown tones.
But the collaboration doesn’t stop at shoes. Filson and Birkenstock have also created two boot styles that offer both style and functionality. The Lahti, reminiscent of Native American footwear, is made with cozy Mackinaw wool and a microfleece liner, making it perfect for wearing indoors as a slipper or outdoors on dry days. The Skykomish, on the other hand, is a rugged boot designed to withstand harsh weather conditions with its multi-layered build featuring Filson’s signature Tin Cloth, textured rubber, and microfiber lining.
To celebrate the launch of the collection, Filson is showcasing the footwear at their new flagship store in Milan. The 200 sq. ft space features the shoes prominently displayed against wood paneling, Aztec-inspired loom rugs, and rails holding the brand’s signature flannel shirts, creating an elevated and outdoorsy atmosphere.
