Devin Booker Drops New Nike Book 1 PE Honoring University of Kentucky Wildcats
Devin Booker, the rising star of the Phoenix Suns, has been on a PE (player exclusive) kick lately, releasing a slew of never-before-seen options of his signature shoe, the Nike Book 1. But this time, he’s paying homage to his alma mater, the University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball team.
The Wildcats are gearing up for their new season, which begins on November 4th, and they’ve received a special home and away pair of Book 1s. These shoes are inspired by the school’s iconic blue and white color scheme and the team’s 1996 National Championship season.
Booker has been dropping collegiate PEs throughout the season, starting with the Michigan State PE and later the USC Trojans one. But the Kentucky PEs are a special treat for fans of both Booker and the Wildcats.
The shoes feature the team’s blue and white colorway, with the number 34-2 appearing on the tongue as a nod to Booker’s time with the Wildcats. This cleverly references the team’s National Championship run in 1996, while also highlighting Booker’s birth year.
The Wildcats logos can be seen on the insoles and lateral side of the heel counter, adding an extra touch of school spirit to the design.
Take a closer look at these special edition shoes in the images above and below. Fans of Booker and the Wildcats won’t want to miss out on these stylish and meaningful kicks.
