Nicholas Daley x Nepenthes New York: A Workwear Capsule Blending Subculture, Heritage, and Artisanal Craftsmanship

British designer Nicholas Daley has teamed up with Nepenthes New York to create a unique workwear capsule that combines elements of subculture, heritage, and artisanal craftsmanship. The collection includes graphic tees, reworked jackets, accessories, and lifestyle objects, all featuring Daley’s signature bespoke textiles and intricate finishes.

In addition to the collaboration with Nepenthes New York, Daley has also partnered with Kozaburo to release a range of exclusive merchandise, available at both the Nepenthes New York pop-up and on the Nicholas Daley website.

Daley is known for his exploration of subcultural themes and his collaborations with niche artisans and creatives from around the world. This includes collaborations with Scottish heritage textile brands like Lochcarron and Halley Stevensons, South African artist Esther Mahlangu, and Union Tokyo founder Chris Gibbs, as well as well-known brands like Carhartt and Adidas.

A Capsule Collection for the Nicholas Daley and Nepenthes New York Pop-Up

The recent pop-up collaboration between Nicholas Daley and Nepenthes New York was a perfect fit, as both brands are known for their carefully curated selection of workwear and artisanal labels. The workwear capsule created for the pop-up features a mix of apparel, accessories, and objects, all adorned with custom reggae-inspired artwork.

One standout piece is the “Yin Yang” graphic tee, a collaboration between Daley and Kozaburo Akasaka. Like Daley, Kozaburo is known for his design aesthetic influenced by musical subcultures and street style, executed with high-quality materials and precise construction.

The capsule also includes bandanas, stickers, and pins, as well as a reworked “Workaday” jacket with hand-crocheted detailing and archival embroidered patches. Daley’s signature crocheted bucket hat is also available in an exclusive colorway. The collection also features creative objects such as hand-knitted plant pots and a custom incense blend created in collaboration with New Way of Life.

A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Cultural Storytelling

Nepenthes provides the perfect platform for Daley’s ongoing exploration of craftsmanship and cultural storytelling. Both brands share a commitment to heritage and purpose, making this collaboration a natural fit. “This project celebrates our shared creative worlds and the friendships that have grown over the years,” says Daley. “It’s been a real honor to collaborate with Daiki Suzuki, Nepenthes, and the Engineered Garments team – brands and people I deeply respect – as well as my longtime friend Kozaburo.”

The capsule collection is now available exclusively at the Nepenthes New York store and on the Nicholas Daley website. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of this unique collaboration between two innovative and respected brands.
