PACE Opens First Flagship Store in São Paulo, Blending Culture and Technology
Brazilian-Japanese streetwear brand PACE has officially opened its doors to its first flagship store in São Paulo, marking a significant expansion for the renowned brand. The store, designed to bridge cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology, aims to create a timeless and inclusive environment for streetwear enthusiasts.
The flagship store, developed by Coletivo de Arquitetos and led by Guile Amadeu in collaboration with PACE’s founder Felipe Matayoshi, seamlessly blends Japanese and Brazilian influences to create a “home-like” atmosphere. This invites visitors to experience the brand’s core identity firsthand. The space also features Café PACE, a dedicated area with seasonal fabric seating by Paulo Mendes da Rocha, where customers can gather and engage in a comfortable environment.
But PACE’s goal for the store goes beyond just retail. It aims to create a hub for cultural expression by integrating an interactive LED panel where invited artists can showcase their work. This fosters a dialogue between art, streetwear, and technology. “We had the courage to create a large and innovative space that not only reflects the essence of PACE but also serves as a gathering point for the community,” Matayoshi explains.
The store also celebrates Matayoshi’s passion for music with vintage 1960s Italian speakers and plans for future music events, from listening sessions to record meet-ups. This focus on creative expression is central to PACE’s vision, as it aims to strengthen ties with its audience through collaborative, interactive experiences that highlight its local and international influences.
PACE’s offerings, rooted in Matayoshi’s Okinawan and Brazilian heritage, include apparel, accessories, and lifestyle products with functional designs and a futuristic edge.
