VF Corp Surpasses Expectations in Q2 FY2025, Shares Soar

The parent company of Vans, VF Corp, has defied expectations in its latest earnings report for Q2 FY2025. After two consecutive quarters of losses, the company has bounced back with a 9% increase in revenues in China, surpassing its 4% growth from the previous year. While globally, VF Corp saw a decline of 6% in revenues, it still exceeded analysts’ forecasts of $2.71 billion USD.

Despite a 3% decrease in revenue for The North Face (a significant drop from last year’s 19% increase), and an 11% decrease for Vans (an improvement from Q1’s 21% decrease), VF Corp’s gross margin increased by 52.2%, a 120 base point improvement from last year. This impressive performance has caused VF Corp’s shares to climb by 16%.

On a currency-adjusted basis, VF Corp reported a profit of 60 cents per share, surpassing analysts’ estimates of 37 cents per share. Looking ahead, the company expects a revenue range of $2.7 billion USD to $2.75 billion USD, a 1% to 3% decrease from the previous year. Adjusted operating income is also expected to decrease, with a range of $170 million USD to $200 million USD, compared to last year’s $218 million USD.
