Birkenstock x Union LA “Bimshire” Pays Tribute to Chris Gibbs’ Favorite Footwear Styles
Get ready to step into style with the latest collaboration from UNION LA and Birkenstock. The “Bimshire” collection, named after the island of Barbados in honor of UNION LA founder Chris Gibbs’ Bajan roots, combines the craftsmanship of two iconic Birkenstock silhouettes – the “Boston” and “Zurich” – to create a utilitarian-inspired hybrid.
Available in two neutral colorways, “Beige Taupe” and “Shadow Grey,” the “Bimshire” features a tonal canvas with French piping and a round, suede toe. Smooth leather straps and Birkenstock’s signature buckle design complete the top of the structure, while the anatomically shaped footbed is engulfed in UNION LA’s signature orange colorway.
“It’s a dream come true to be working with Birkenstock – a brand that I have been wearing since before I hit puberty,” said Gibbs in a statement. “For a long time, I was even teased for wearing ‘chancletas,’ so it’s refreshing to see our community evolve.”
The “Bimshire” collection is set to release on October 29, 2024, just in time for the 60th anniversary of the “Zurich” silhouette. Don’t miss your chance to snag a pair from UNION LA.
