Brain Dead x adidas Japan Lo: A Retro Revamp for the Ages
Get ready sneakerheads, because the highly anticipated Brain Dead x adidas Japan Lo is finally dropping on August 28, 2025. This collaboration between the iconic streetwear brand and sportswear giant is a playful twist on the classic 1964 silhouette, first teased at a Paris showroom last May.
The Japan Lo was originally released to coincide with the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, but its timeless design has made it a beloved lifestyle sneaker since its reissue in 2024. Now, Brain Dead and adidas are bringing it back with a fresh new look that is sure to turn heads.
The revamped model will be available in two colorways: a brown, olive, and yellow palette, as well as a black, white, and blue option. Both feature bold flame-shaped overlays in a hairy suede material, along with special hairy laces and a suede pull tab at the heel. The contrast leather collar adds a touch of sophistication to the retro design, while the thin off-white sole stays on trend with the current flat-soled craze.
This is just the latest in a series of eye-catching collaborations between Brain Dead and adidas, including the Stan Smith, Forest Hills, and Dover Street Market exclusive Bowling Shoe. And while we eagerly await the release of the other teased models from last spring, we can mark our calendars for the Brain Dead x adidas Japan Lo, retailing at $140 USD, dropping on August 28 at the official adidas webstore and app.
