Jonathan Anderson Teams Up with Luca Guadagnino for “AI Comedy” Film ‘Artificial’
Renowned designer Jonathan Anderson is adding another impressive credit to his resume, as he takes on the role of costume designer for Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film, ‘Artificial.’ This marks the third collaboration between the two creatives, who are known for their thought-provoking and visually stunning projects.
The film, loosely based on the story of OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman, delves into the controversies and conflicts surrounding Big Tech and its advancements in artificial intelligence. With AI becoming increasingly integrated into our daily lives, the central theme of the film is both timely and relevant.
In a recent interview with WWD, Anderson expressed his excitement for the project, stating, “We think in a similar way, and about similar subjects – the idea of taste, aesthetics – as well as what’s happening in design, visual and decorative arts.” The designer also confirmed his involvement on Instagram, sharing his enthusiasm for working with Guadagnino once again.
The two have previously collaborated on Guadagnino’s films ‘Challengers’ and ‘Queer,’ with the latter earning Anderson a Costume Designers Guild Awards nomination. ‘Artificial’ will feature a star-studded cast including Andrew Garfield, Yura Borisov, and Cooper Koch, who also appeared in ‘Queer.’ While an official release date has yet to be announced, the film is currently in pre-production and is sure to be a must-see for fans of both Anderson and Guadagnino’s work.
