Shanghai Fashion Week: A Showcase of Chinese and Global Designers
The city of Shanghai was buzzing with excitement as Fashion Week took over, featuring standout collections from top Chinese designers like Xander Zhou, Office H, SHUSHU/TONG, and ANGEL CHEN. But it wasn’t just local talent on display – global brands like Moncler, Vivienne Westwood, Anderson Bell, and LỰU ĐẠN also made their mark on the runway.
But the fashion frenzy didn’t stop there. Hypebeast took to the streets to capture the most eye-catching street style looks from the outside. Attendees were dressed to impress with expressive confidence, nostalgic fun, and a tasteful dose of aesthetic subversion.
Layers upon layers dominated the silhouettes, with long lines and baggy fits taking center stage. Patent leather coats, washed denim jackets, and big-shouldered blazers brought back the 90s vibe. But these bold styles were balanced out with delicate lace trims, ruched hems, and a pop of baby pink.
Despite the feminine touches, attendees maintained a punk-esque sensibility with chrome-studded accessories and clashing prints. And there was no shortage of playful surrealism, with trompe l’oeil tops, oversized buckles and ribbons, and ironic officewear styling.
But the most daring looks came from Windowsen, with a heather gray two-piece featuring boxing shorts with rhinestone embellishments and a cropped hoodie with American Football shoulders. And in another look, baggy camouflage cargos were paired with raw denim over-shorts and a Supreme hockey jersey.
