Supreme Takes Over Asia: Online Shop Now Open in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Singapore
Get ready, streetwear fans in Asia – Supreme is expanding its digital reach to new regions in the continent. Starting October 26 at 10 a.m. local time, the iconic brand will open its online shop to customers in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Taiwan Region, and Singapore.
This exciting move comes after Supreme was acquired by French-Italian eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica in July. The parent company, known for brands like Ray-Ban and Oakley, purchased Supreme from VF Corporation for a whopping $1.5 billion USD in cash.
With 17 retail stores already operating in the US, Asia, and Europe, Supreme has long managed its online business in various global regions. However, until now, its online shop was not available in the aforementioned Asian regions. This expansion is expected to further boost the growth of the brand, which has plans to expand under EssilorLuxottica’s ownership.
James Jebbia, the founder of Supreme, has expressed his support for the acquisition, stating that it will allow the brand to focus on its core values and customers. According to Business of Fashion, Jebbia believes that this partnership will be beneficial for the brand’s future success.
This acquisition comes after VF Corporation acquired Supreme in 2020 in a $2.1 billion USD deal with the Carlyle Group. Now, fans in Asia can access Supreme’s online shop through their website or the Supreme mobile app, available on both iOS and Android.
