Air Jordan 10 OG “Steel” Set to Make a Comeback in 2025

Imagine if Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, suddenly decided to retire from football and pursue a career in baseball. It may seem like a far-fetched scenario, but it’s not entirely unheard of. In fact, Michael Jordan, widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time, did just that in 1993 when he announced his retirement from the NBA after leading the Chicago Bulls to three consecutive championships.

But unlike Mahomes, who is still in the prime of his career, Jordan had nothing left to prove on the basketball court. Yet, he chose to return to the sport several years later, driven by his sheer will to add another three-peat to his already impressive list of accomplishments. This is a testament to Jordan’s resilience, evolution, and greatness.

In 1994, when Jordan made his grand reentrance to the NBA, Nike marked the occasion by releasing the Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Jordan 10 “Steel” sneakers. And now, it’s rumored that these minimalist high-tops will be making a comeback in 2025.

The Air Jordan 10 OG “Steel” will be released in its original colorway, featuring a white tumbled leather upper with a black secondary tone that curves from the heel down to the laces. The shoe is finished with gray stripes that wrap from the eyelets across the throat. Staying true to the original design, the outsole will feature a blue Jumpman logo (instead of the red one used on the 2005 and 2013 “Steel” retros), and the stripes will pay homage to Jordan’s first 10 years in the NBA by listing his career highlights.

Sneaker enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the upcoming release will also feature the contentious toebox that Jordan himself wasn’t a fan of. This is why it disappeared on all subsequent pairs. The OG “Steel” sneakers were first worn by Jordan at Scottie Pippen’s charity event in September of 1994.

The Air Jordan 10 OG “Steel” is expected to make its comeback in Fall 2025, with a retail price of $200 USD. Keep an eye out for its release on Nike’s website.
