Bailey Goldberg: The Knitwear Designer Who Balances Serious Craft with a Playful Twist

I’m Bailey Goldberg, a knitwear designer on a mission to create the best beanies in the game. My label is my pride and joy, but don’t let that fool you – I’ve got a wicked sense of humor too.

Who is wearing Bailey Goldberg?

Is it too bold to say everyone? Knitwear is a universal craft that has something for everyone. Whether you’re a fashionista or a casual beanies-and-jeans kind of person, there’s a Bailey Goldberg piece for you.

What is your brand’s main message?

My brand’s message is a bit intangible, but it’s a perfect blend of serious craftsmanship and a playful nod to the things that make me who I am. I take my work seriously, but I never take myself too seriously.

When did you launch your label?

For the longest time, I was just creating pieces for myself and friends. But when a news article about my work went viral, I knew it was time to make it official. In 2023, Selfridges reached out to stock my pieces, and that’s when I consider my label officially launched.

Where are people wearing Bailey Goldberg?

Everywhere! From glaciers to cafes, mountains to office jobs, Paris Fashion Week to crabbing trips, and even on architecture jobsites and in the scorching Texas heat. I’ve got photographic evidence to prove it.

Why was the Bailey Goldberg brand created?

Honestly, it was always there, just in different forms. I’ve been creating and designing since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until I discovered knitting that everything fell into place. It was like all the puzzle pieces finally fit together, and I knew I had found my “thing.”

About The Brand

When did knitwear design become a passion for you – and on top of that, an intended career path?

In 2019, I was feeling creatively drained and searching for a new outlet. I stumbled upon an ’80s knit sweater with a big ILGWU logo on the front, and it sparked something in me. I couldn’t find one for sale, so I decided to knit my own. I had no experience with knitting, but I was determined. After perfecting my first beanie, I shared it online and the response was overwhelming. That’s when I knew I had found my passion and my career path.
