Lupita Nyong’o Named Chanel’s Latest Ambassador
Kenyan-born actress, producer, and author Lupita Nyong’o has officially been named the newest ambassador for luxury fashion brand Chanel. The announcement was made during Paris Fashion Week, where Nyong’o attended the Spring/Summer 2025 show.
Long-time Friend of the House
Nyong’o has been a long-time friend of Chanel, having worn numerous creations from the brand in the past. She even attended the FW24 Haute Couture show and stunned in a Chanel Haute Couture gown at the Academy Museum Annual Gala in Los Angeles last December.
First Regular Season Show as Ambassador
Shortly after being announced as the new ambassador, Nyong’o attended her first regular season Chanel show. The actress hit the ground running and showed off her impeccable style.
From 12 Years a Slave to Chanel Ambassador
Nyong’o made her feature debut in Steve McQueen’s Oscar-winning film 12 Years a Slave, for which she received numerous accolades including an Oscar, SAG Award, Critics’ Choice Award, Independent Spirit Award, and NAACP Image Award. She continues to make waves in the entertainment industry, most recently starring in the A Quiet Place franchise spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One.
Mind Your Own Podcast and Upcoming Projects
In addition to her successful acting career, Nyong’o also launched her own podcast, Mind Your Own, which focuses on non-fiction cultural storytelling from the African diaspora. She is also set to return to the theater in 2025, playing Viola in Shakespeare in the Park’s summer production of Twelfth Night alongside Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Emmy Award-Winning Author
Nyong’o’s talents extend beyond the screen and stage. She narrated her debut children’s book Sulwe for Netflix’s Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices, earning her an Emmy Award.
