A$AP Rocky Unveils Wayfarer Puffer Frames and First Campaign as Creative Director
After making waves at the Met Gala and Cannes Film Festival with his stylish sunglasses, A$AP Rocky has finally revealed his highly-anticipated Wayfarer Puffer frames. And to commemorate the release, the rapper has also launched his first campaign as Creative Director, featuring a lineup of local models from his hometown of Harlem.
The glasses come in a variety of bold shades, including red, pink, black, blue, green, and yellow, and are priced at $202 USD. This is just the latest move in Rocky’s journey as Ray-Ban’s first-ever creative director, a role that seemed like a natural fit for the eyewear aficionado rapper.
For his debut delivery, Rocky focused on Ray-Ban’s iconic Wayfarer silhouette, debuting a one-of-a-kind version at the Met Gala adorned with an 18-karat gold logo, natural diamonds, and gemstones. He then followed up with a similar pair at the Cannes Film Festival the following week.
But now, the wait is over as Ray-Ban and Rocky have officially unveiled the Wayfarer Puffer frames and their accompanying campaign, shot on the streets of Harlem. The shoot features a street-cast of local artists and neighbors, showcasing the rapper’s culture, community, and personal style. It’s a visual representation of the frames’ tagline: “Rooted in Harlem. Designed for the world.”
While the Wayfarer Puffers may not be made of 18-karat gold or adorned with diamonds, they still exude a sleek and polished look. And with a price tag of $202 USD, they’re accessible to all. Check out Rocky’s first creative-directed Ray-Ban campaign in the gallery above.
