Danish Designer Cecilie Bahnsen Teams Up with The North Face for a Feminine and Futuristic Collection

It’s a busy Tuesday in Paris for designer Cecilie Bahnsen, who is currently stationed in her charming atelier. With less than 24 hours until her show, she’s busy casting models and double-checking her Spring 2025 looks on a sprawling tack board. But amidst all the chaos, she’s also celebrating the recent launch of her ASICS GEL-TERRAIN and the first-ever women’s model of the ASICS Gel-Quantum 360 VIII, which made its debut at Copenhagen Fashion Week last month. And now, she’s adding another exciting collaboration to her growing list of achievements.

A Tech-Filled Partnership with The North Face

In between the racks of her classic, hyper-feminine designs, you can’t miss the iconic logo of outerwear giant, The North Face. Bahnsen has joined forces with the brand to create a ready-to-wear and accessories collection that combines her signature flower-filled femininity with The North Face’s utilitarian details. “We wanted to go extremely tech from the beginning, so we took a futuristic approach to our outerwear,” Bahnsen explains. “These pieces have all the practical features like waterproofing and durability, but they still maintain a super feminine aesthetic. We really got to geek out on what we love.”

A Nod to The North Face’s Archives

Inspired by The North Face’s most beloved archival styles, the collection features a Mountain Dress adorned with delicate floral decals and pull tabs that can be adjusted to create different silhouettes. “When you pull the flower tabs, you can create volume and form the peplum shape that we have in a lot of our mainline designs,” Bahnsen reveals. “I love that you can wear it that way, or you can tuck it into a poofy dress.” Other standout pieces include long shorts with Bahnsen’s floral iconography running down the sides, a custom treatment that makes each design unique. The classic Mountain Jacket also gets a Bahnsen makeover with ruching details and, of course, flowers. The collection is rounded out with the Base Camp Duffel, Base Camp Clutch, and chunky Glenclyffe hiking boot, all featuring Bahnsen’s signature sculptural volumes.

A Perfect Blend of Danish Countryside and High-Tech Fashion

Bahnsen draws inspiration from the countryside in Denmark, making this collaboration with The North Face feel right at home. “Anyone can put these pieces on and make them their own because they allow your attitude, energy, and personality to shine through,” she says while admiring the full collection. And for those eager to get their hands on these unique pieces, they won’t have to wait long. The collection will be available online and in stores during the Spring 2025 season. But for a first look, keep an eye on Bahnsen’s runway show, where The North Face’s climbers will be debuting the collection this afternoon.
