GANNI Takes Paris Fashion Week by Storm with Sustainable and Stylish SS25 Collection
The Galerie Haute in the Palais de Tokyo was buzzing with excitement as GANNI made its debut at Paris Fashion Week with its SS25 show. The Danish brand’s latest collection, titled “The Craft,” not only showcased its experimentation with sustainable materials but also reintroduced the iconic “GANNI Girl” to the Parisian stage. With a focus on responsible production, the brand’s playful and modern approach to female fashion was on full display through bold styling, dynamic layering, and eye-catching patterns and graphics.
In an exclusive interview with WWD, creative director Ditte Reffstrup described the collection as “witchery,” with its textile-driven alchemy and aesthetic tension. “It feels like us being witches fighting for something,” Reffstrup said. The show opened with a tailored look featuring a belted blazer with chrome eyelets, a sheer organza blouse, and a unique mini/knee-length skort in a soft white hue. This set the tone for the rest of the presentation, which continued to play with contrasts such as hardness and softness, fluidity and structure, and transparency and opacity.
GANNI’s commitment to sustainability was evident throughout the show, with the brand highlighting six new textiles for the collection, including Circulose®, Celium™, and Symplfyber Fybron™. These materials are a result of the brand’s “Fabrics of the Future” research initiative, launched in 2019 as part of its goal to achieve a 50% carbon reduction by 2027.
The presentation closed with a bang as a model descended the runway in a stunning red dress with rouched bodice details, paired with knee-high patent leather red boots. This dramatic finale perfectly encapsulated the rebellious spirit of GANNI’s SS25 collection, which defies the notion of “quiet luxury” and celebrates the complexity of contemporary womanhood.
