Tyler, the Creator and Converse Team Up for a New Collection Inspired by Airedale Terriers
Tyler, the Creator’s GOLF le FLEUR* label and Converse have a long history of collaborating on the iconic Chuck Taylor All-Star and Chuck 70 sneakers. But their latest collection draws inspiration from Tyler’s love of dogs, specifically Airedale Terriers.
The Devil is in the Details
Tyler’s latest take on the Chuck features extra thick laces, aged white midsoles, and a hidden illustration of Tyler in his signature bellhop suit on the bottoms. The Airedale Terrier, named Darryl, is a central figure in the le FLEUR* iconography and appears in a vintage duo-tone graphic on the outsoles and heel.
Classic Canvas with a Twist
The uppers of the Chuck 70 Darryl are made of Converse’s traditional canvas, but in five new colors: Dachshund (light brown), Lemon Meringue (butter yellow), Margarita (pistachio green), Milky Blue, and Orchid Petal (lavender). These powdery hues add an elegant and retro touch to the sneakers, perfectly in line with the le FLEUR* line and Tyler’s artistic vision.
A Versatile Design
While the Chuck 70 Darryl leans more towards the preppy side of the brand’s aesthetic, it can easily be worn in any season thanks to its minimalistic design. This is a departure from previous Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* drops, which featured loud colors and bold patterns. The new model shares a vintage, yet simple sensibility with the Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* GLF 2.0, released in 2022.
Release Dates
The first drop of the Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* Darryl Chuck 70 will be available on September 26 at both Converse and GOLF le FLEUR* web stores. Five more colorways will be released in November, just in time for the 2024 Camp Flog Gnaw music festival. Don’t miss your chance to snag a pair of these stylish and unique sneakers.
