LA MUSEUM’s Second Physical Exhibition Takes Shibuya by Storm

Get ready, fashion lovers! LA MUSEUM is back with their second physical exhibition, “LA MUSEUM SHIBUYA,” and it’s set to be even bigger and better than their debut show. From June 14 to June 29, the exhibition will showcase 50 pieces from “1950s – 2010s Part 2,” featuring both Japanese and London designers.

But that’s not all – the exhibition will also mark the first public display of Martin Margiela’s 215-photo installation. This is a rare opportunity to see the work of the iconic designer up close and personal.

Founded by LAILA, LA MUSEUM is a virtual museum that has been making waves in the fashion world. After the success of their exclusive debut show, “Villa in the Forest,” which was limited to just 30 guests, they’re now opening their doors to the public. And the best part? It’s still completely free of charge.

The exhibition will focus on fashion from the 1980s onwards, featuring iconic pieces from Japanese designers like Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, and Issey Miyake, as well as international icons like Helmut Lang, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, and members of the Antwerp Six.

One of the highlights of the exhibition will be two rare sketchbooks that detail the design process behind Maison Martin Margiela’s Spring/Summer 1993 and Fall/Winter 1993 to 1994 collections. There will also be a screening of a video work that was first presented at Lafayette Anticipations in Paris in October 2021.

But that’s not all – the exhibition will also feature key pieces from each season of Maison Martin Margiela’s collections from his debut through 1999. With such a rich lineup, LA MUSEUM’s upcoming exhibition promises an unforgettable deep dive into fashion history – and possibly even more to anticipate.

Don’t miss out on this must-see event at LA MUSEUM’s B1F, Token-Nagai Building in Shibuya, Tokyo. Admission is free, so mark your calendars for June 14 to June 29 and get ready to be blown away by the world of fashion.
