Glenn Martens Unveils Diesel’s Resort 2026 Collection with a Nocturnal Campaign
Glenn Martens, the soon-to-be creative director of Maison Margiela, is keeping busy with his current role at Diesel. The Italian-born denim label has just released its Resort 2026 collection with a dimly lit campaign that showcases Martens’ signature design cues. The campaign features a diverse cast of onlookers, giving off the vibe of a packed nightclub or a makeshift runway.
Signature Design Cues
Martens’ Resort 2026 collection for Diesel continues the brand’s aesthetic from its previous collections, offering a mix of semi-tailored silhouettes and lived-in distressing. The looks start off with simple yet stylish pieces, such as sculpted mini dresses for women and heavily washed check suiting for men.
A Departure from Hyper-Distressed Sensibilities
One standout menswear look features a sleek cropped leather puffer jacket paired with a faded charcoal suit and a washed black denim shirt, topped off with an embossed logo handbag. This departure from Diesel’s usual hyper-distressed style adds a touch of elegance to the collection.
Expressive Design Language
As the collection progresses, Martens’ more expressive design language emerges with duo-tone motorcycle jackets, rugged indigo denim, and a clash of airbrushed patterns and street art motifs. A standout piece is a sepia-toned biker jacket with bold trompe l’oeil graphics, adding a surreal touch to the collection.
Prints and Patterns
The collection also features a range of prints and patterns, including an ultra-shiny, blurred floral and abstract graffiti, reminiscent of the set of Diesel’s FW25/26 runway presentation. Matching blue sets with creased prints on athletic staples like mesh basketball shorts and a football jersey add a sporty element to the collection.
