eBay Hosts Pre-Loved Catwalk for London Fashion Week’s 40th Anniversary
In honor of London Fashion Week’s 40th anniversary, eBay pulled out all the stops with a pre-loved catwalk styled by the brand’s very own pre-loved Style Director, Amy Bannerman. The show featured iconic pieces from fashion week favorites like Simone Rocha, Martine Rose, and Alexander McQueen, all with the goal of highlighting the importance of secondhand fashion and encouraging LFW attendees to shop pre-loved.
A Blast from the Past: Archive Pieces from Iconic LFW Brands
The catwalk collection was a trip down memory lane, showcasing archive pieces from the brands that have shaped the last four decades of London Fashion Week. From Mulberry’s iconic Bayswater handbag to Wales Bonner’s adidas collaboration and the cult-favorite skirt from Chopova Lowena, each piece was instantly shoppable on eBay with prices ranging from £24 GBP to £1,000 GBP.
“Pre-Loved Fashion Takes the Front Row”
Style Director Amy Bannerman expressed her excitement for the show, stating, “Curating this show for eBay has been a full-circle moment, allowing me to channel eBay’s spirit of treasure-hunting with 40 years of London’s fashion history.” She hopes that the ability to access incredible British brands through the curated edit will bring people the same joy that eBay has brought her for the past 23 years, reminding them of fashion’s ability to endure, reinvent, and surprise.
A Partnership with a Purpose
Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council, also shared her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are really excited to partner with eBay on their Endless Runway this London Fashion Week. By making these items accessible on the marketplace, eBay opens the door for a wider audience to explore and appreciate the legacy of London Fashion Week over the past 40 years, proving that authentic designer fashion can be within everyone’s reach.”
