“From Air Jordan 9s to YEEZYs: How Brandon “Bimma” Williams Turned His Sneaker Obsession into a Career”

At just nine years old, Brandon “Bimma” Williams had big dreams of being as fresh as his older cousin, lacing up his Air Jordan 9s and collecting sneakers in his hometown of Louisiana. But it wasn’t until college that Williams and his crew took their passion for sneakers to the next level, seeking out rare and limited edition pairs to add to their collection.

As a marketing expert, Williams first made his mark with Saucony in 2013, bringing a fresh perspective to the brand’s focus on performance gear. He then joined forces with one of his favorite artists, Ye, to work on the adidas YEEZY team and the iconic YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 line. With a wealth of knowledge in collaborations, Williams then joined Nike’s marketing team, playing a role in highly-anticipated launches with the likes of Travis Scott and ACRONYM.

But it was Williams’ entrepreneurial spirit that truly set him apart. In 2019, he launched Claima Stories with Bimma, featuring interviews with industry leaders like Melody Ehsani and Jeff Staple. Now, with his latest venture Collab Lab, Williams is breaking down the truth behind collaborations and what makes them successful or not.

In an exclusive interview, Williams gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the sneaker industry and shares his thoughts on why collaborations aren’t as special as they used to be. From his early days at Saucony to his current role at Nike, Williams has seen it all and is ready to share his insights with the world.
