Steven Stokey-Daley: The Man of the Hour

The fashion world was abuzz as Liverpool-born designer Steven Stokey-Daley opened London Fashion Week with a bang. Making his womenswear debut at London’s prestigious Royal Academy, Stokey-Daley’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled “No Suffix, Prefix or Quote,” was a significant milestone for the rising star.

Unexpectedly, the front row was graced by the likes of Harry Styles and Emma Corrin, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the show. With his previous showcases at Pitti Uomo 105 and an investment from Styles himself, it was no surprise that Stokey-Daley’s next collection was highly anticipated.

And he did not disappoint. The collection, consisting of 24 sleek looks, stayed true to Stokey-Daley’s signature medieval and elegant style, reinvented for the most dapper ladies around. Attention to detail was key, with antiquated blazers featuring intricate floral embroidery, slightly exposed shirt collars, and elaborate crotchet socks.

Hand-beaded skirts gave off a pixilated effect, showcasing blooming florals from both past and future decades. Old-school waistcoats opened and flowed at the knees, complemented by furry neckties that added a touch of untamed charm.

The overall feel of the collection was luxurious, with contoured double-breasted coats slimming the waist and keeping you warm with fur neck trimmings. But Stokey-Daley also didn’t forget about summertime, incorporating blooming florals into formal co-ords and leather-pipped trench coats.

Warped gingham cascaded over translucent maxi skirts, paired with dainty tank tops perfect for outdoor picnics. The collection was completed with angel-embroidered crewnecks, sheer organza uniforms, and hefty fringed bags.

In short, Stokey-Daley did what he does best for SS25, and his womenswear debut was no different. Sharp and refined with dashes of archaic beauty, he once again proved that he can do it all.
