New York Fashion Week: The Best Moments You Don’t Want to Miss
The fashion world has been buzzing with excitement as New York Fashion Week officially came to a close. From celebrity sightings to unexpected performances, the chaos in the American fashion capital was at an all-time high. But amidst all the madness, there were some standout moments that stole the show. Here are the top moments from NYFW that you won’t want to miss.
The Green Lady of Brooklyn Makes Her NYFW Debut at Collina Strada
While there were plenty of celebrity cameos at NYFW, the appearance of The Green Lady of Brooklyn at Collina Strada’s “Touch Grass” showcase was a standout moment. A local icon since the 1990s, The Green Lady strutted down the runway in her signature all-green attire from the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, carrying her iconic Iguana bag. This was her first ever runway appearance, and it perfectly embodied the show’s climate-conscious message.
As she walked to the tune of “I’m gonna be round my vegetables, I’m gonna chow down my vegetables,” The Green Lady donned a green oxford shirt, baggy pocketed pants, and a hoodie tied around her waist. It was a powerful and memorable moment that left a lasting impression on the audience.
Wu-Tang Surprises at Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2025 Show
Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2025 show was a star-studded tribute to New York City, and even Wu-Tang got in on the action. After the runway show, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Raekwon took the stage for a surprise performance hosted by Questlove. The unexpected performance drew a crowd of show attendees and in-air iPhones, making it one of the most talked-about moments of NYFW.
In an interview with DAZED, Ghostface explained the significance of the collaboration, saying, “Tommy’s legendary, you know. When you go back to our early material, that’s what we were screaming, it’s what we were wearing. He was one of the top-ass brands, he had me running about in this big-ass warehouse going crazy in his clothes. If you go back and listen, we were shouting his name out on mad tracks. So many tracks.”
He continued, “Back in the 80s and early 90s, his name was attached to the streets. If you had Hilfiger on, it meant something. That’s how fashion was back in the day. So it’s an honor right now to be on the boat, back where it all started. It’s legendary. When I got the call, I was like ‘Hell yeah, I’m gonna go wreck.'”
Who Decides War Teams Up with Jordan Brand
Footwear was a major highlight at the Who Decides War showcase, with models strutting down the runway in four different collaborative Jordan Brand silhouettes. This marked the beginning of a long-term partnership between Who Decides War and Jordan Brand, and the three Jordan Flight Court models were a clear standout of the show.
In an interview with Sarah Schecker, the designer behind Who Decides War, she expressed her excitement about the collaboration, saying, “I’m so excited to be working with Jordan Brand. It’s a dream come true for me and my brand. I’ve always been a fan of their designs and to have the opportunity to collaborate with them is truly an honor.”
With these standout moments and many more, New York Fashion Week was a whirlwind of excitement, creativity, and chaos. We can’t wait to see what the next fashion week has in store.
