Danish Brand AKNVAS Brings Joy to Hudson Yards with Spring/Summer 2025 Runway Show

Designer Christian Juul Nielsen is known for his creative expression and attention to texture and form in his designs. And his latest collection, showcased at Hudson Yards, did not disappoint.

The collection, titled “Nordic Midsummer Camp,” was a whimsical journey through a Nordic summer landscape. Divided into three chapters, “Urban Scout,” “Monochromatic Flower Fields,” and “Radiant Dew,” the collection featured daring silhouettes, 3D floral appliques, and a vibrant color palette.

But the surprises didn’t stop there. AKNVAS also debuted their first line of handbags, adding a new dimension to the brand’s already impressive range.

The show opened with two denim looks, a jacket and micro shorts set, followed by an ultra mini dress. But as the collection progressed, it transitioned into linen and lace pieces, showcasing the brand’s versatility.

While florals are a staple for spring collections, AKNVAS took it to the next level with unexpected pieces like men’s bloomers and micro mini skirts. Designer Christian Juul Nielsen proved that there are no limits to his creative expression.

Halfway through the show, the energy shifted as Charli XCX’s music filled the room. The delicate textiles were replaced with edgier ensembles, including a denim grommeted mini dress and matching set. The show ended on a high note with two stunning sequined looks.

In addition to the main collection, AKNVAS also showcased their ongoing partnership with Stuart Weitzman, debuting the brand’s moto-inspired Emerson capsule collection.
