Todd Snyder Returns to New York Fashion Week with Intimate Salon-Style Show
After a five-year hiatus from the New York runway, designer Todd Snyder made a triumphant return to the Big Apple fashion scene on Sunday. The intimate salon-style show, held at Rockefeller Center’s Le Rock restaurant, was a stark contrast to Snyder’s last show in Florence during Pitti Uomo in January.
A Nostalgic Inspiration
Snyder’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled “Villa America,” drew inspiration from the American expatriate scene on the French Riviera in the 1920s. The name itself pays homage to Gerald and Sarah Murphy’s Antibes home, a popular gathering place for artists such as Picasso, Cole Porter, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
A Fusion of Styles
The collection featured a mix of Anglo-American tailoring and Milanese drapery, a signature blend in Snyder’s expanding brand. The designer described the process as an exploration, balancing relaxed styles with elegant cuts.
The Beauty of Fashion Design
For Snyder, the show was a reminder of why he fell in love with fashion design in the first place. From the art of draping to discovering luxurious fabrics and cutting patterns, the designer’s passion for his craft was evident in every piece.
An Elegant Affair
Snyder summed up the show in one word: elegant. Against the backdrop of a quintessential New York setting, the fashion exuded a dandy vibe, with models casually strolling through the restaurant locale. It was a posh affair indeed.
