Sunset on Sunday: Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2025 Show Rocks the Boat

At sunset on Sunday, the fashion elite of New York City boarded the decommissioned MV John F. Kennedy, now owned by Pete Davidson and Colin Jost, for Tommy Hilfiger’s highly anticipated Spring 2025 show. The former Staten Island Ferry, soon to be a comedy and music venue, was transformed into a runway for the evening.

Celebrities and Chaos

As the guests made their way onto the ferry, they were greeted by a mob of industry fans and photographers. Among the crowd were Stray Kids’ Felix and Lee Know, Blackpink’s Jisoo, and actors Damson Idris, Shay Mitchell, and Madelyn Cline. Editors scrambled to find their seats on the vintage benches, snacking on popcorn provided by Tommy’s staff. The sound of conversations and clinking champagne flutes filled the air, creating a calculated chaos that is typical of a Tommy show.

Nautical Nostalgia

The show began with a heavy hip-hop beat, bringing a halt to the madness. Models weaved through the narrow corridors of the ferry, showcasing Hilfiger’s latest collection. The designer explained, “We’re revisiting the nautical and maritime inspirations that have defined our signature look since 1985. Today, it’s updated and remixed for 2025, with an effortless summer style and a confidence ready to take on the city.”

Classic Preppy with a Twist

The collection featured classic nautical elements, such as Breton and Ithaca shirting stripes, as well as archival regatta jackets and utilitarian trousers made from sail-cloth nylons and crinkled cottons. Hilfiger also added his signature preppy touch with leather varsity jackets, deck-inspired chinos, and double-pleated yacht shorts. For a touch of luxury, the designer included club blazers with TH iconography, monogram robes, and hand-woven slippers, creating a look he called “New American Prep.”

Show-stopping “Showtainment”

As the designer made his way down the makeshift runway, he was followed by a high-energy performance from Wu-Tang Clan members Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Raekwon, curated by Questlove. The crowd was captivated, with their iPhones out to capture the moment. It’s safe to say that Hilfiger’s “showtainment” truly rocked the boat.
