Marc Jacobs’ 40th Anniversary Collabs: A Fashion Extravaganza

When it comes to collaborations, Marc Jacobs knows how to bring the heat. The iconic American designer has already teamed up with big names like NIGO, Cactus Plant Flea Market, and Anna Sui to give his label a fresh new look. And he’s not done yet. Jacobs has just announced a new collaboration with artist Futura, adding to his already impressive list of partnerships for his 40th anniversary celebration.

The duo first joined forces in 2022 for a charity event benefiting Free Arts NYC, an organization that empowers youth in underserved communities. Now, they’re back with a special-edition capsule collection featuring reimagined versions of Jacobs’ signature pieces, including The Tote Bag, The Snapshot, and unisex denim. But that’s not all – the collection also includes hoodies, sweaters, T-shirts, and jewelry, all adorned with Futura’s iconic artwork.

To showcase the collection, Jacobs has enlisted the help of some famous friends. J Balvin, Paloma Elsesser, and Futura himself star in the campaign, shot by Renell Medrano and styled by Milton Dixon III. The photos feature the trio posing among Futura’s sculptures and graffiti graphics, with the words “Marc Jacobs” prominently displayed.

The Futura x Marc Jacobs collection will officially launch on September 6, making it the eighth collaboration in a year-long series of partnerships for Jacobs’ 40th anniversary. To celebrate, the brand will open pop-up shops in New York, London, Beijing, and Japan, coinciding with the opening of Futura’s largest exhibition, FUTURA 2000: BREAKING OUT, at The Bronx Museum on September 8.
