Stüssy Takes Over Chengdu with New Chapter Store in China
Stüssy, the iconic streetwear brand, is expanding its global reach with the highly anticipated opening of its Chengdu Chapter in the Sichuan Province of China. The grand opening over the weekend showcased the brand’s unique Chapter network store, designed by the renowned Perron-Roettinger duo. This latest addition to Stüssy’s design portfolio joins the ranks of its Milan, Honolulu, and Bangkok Chapter locations. Led by Los Angeles-based design studio Willo Perron and Brian Roettinger, known for their distinct visual language, the Stüssy Chengdu Chapter perfectly embodies the brand’s creative direction.
The design of the Chengdu Chapter pays homage to the historical significance of the Sichuan province. By incorporating the area’s heritage into Stüssy’s overall ethos, the store offers a retail experience like no other. Housed in a heritage building on Citang Street in Qingyang District, the store boasts an exposed brick exterior and a natural wood and red-stained marble interior. And to celebrate the opening, the Chengdu Chapter offers an exclusive capsule collection featuring t-shirts and hoodies for the local residents.
