BEAMS Plus and Mountain Research Team Up for “The Game Collection”
Japanese outdoor gear label Mountain Research has joined forces with BEAMS Plus to create a new collection that pays homage to vintage hunting gear. Aptly named “The Game Collection,” this collaboration features a range of coordinated shirts, shorts, and hats that combine Mountain Research’s playful performance-wear with BEAMS Plus’s traditional Western silhouettes.
The Game Shirt: A Refreshed Take on Vintage Hunting Gear
The standout piece in this collection is the Game Shirt, which is a refreshed version of a vintage hunting shirt owned by Mountain Research founder Setsumasa Kobayashi. Kobayashi explains on the brand’s website that he has always been fascinated by hunting shirts with unique pocket arrangements, and this fascination is evident in the asymmetrical patch pockets on the sleeves and body of the Game Shirt. The back of the shirt also features embroidered woodland animal icons, including a rabbit, deer, and bear, in a vertical composition.
Hunting Shorts and Bucket Hats: Functional and Stylish
The collection also includes hunting shorts and bucket hats, both featuring functional pockets that add to the utilitarian theme of the collaboration. The shorts have pockets surrounding the waistband for easy access, while the bucket hats have small pockets around the band. Both styles are designed with a comfortable, wide-leg fit and are offered in classic colors such as khaki green, white, and camel tan.
