Update: PLAY COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Chuck 70s Removed from Costco Shelves

Shortly after the highly sought-after PLAY COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Chuck 70s, also known as the “Converse with the Hearts,” were spotted en masse at select Costco locations in Canada, they have now been removed from the shelves of the big-box warehouse club stores.

According to a PR company representing the brand, a “distribution mishap” led to the shoes being mistakenly sent to Costco instead of their intended destination. COMME des GARÇONS has declined to comment on the situation.

Original Story: Costco Sparks Controversy with Unexpected Product on Shelves

Costco has caused a stir among the fashion and sneaker communities with their latest product on shelves. Instagram account @CostcoMarkhamEast shared a video revealing sets of the highly coveted COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Chuck Taylor High Tops being sold in the aisles of the wholesale giant.

The PLAY COMME des GARÇONS and Converse’s OG single hearts pack was only reissued last summer and is currently on sale at select DSM e-retailers. However, the pairs being sold at Costco are available for a lower price of $129.99 CAD and were spotted at the end of March.

According to the Instagram account, the shoes can be found at various Costco locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including NW Toronto, Richmond Hill, both Oshawas, Mississauga Dixie/Dundas, Peterborough, Scarborough, and Thorncliffe Park. They are said to be available while supplies last.

The shoes are available in the signature black and white colorways with the single heart on the lateral side of the ’70s high-top sneakers. Check them out in the photos below.
