Levi’s and Denim Tears Team Up for Fourth Season, Celebrating New Orleans Culture and Tradition

Levi’s and Denim Tears have joined forces once again for a highly-anticipated fourth season collaboration. This time, the collection is inspired by the vibrant city of New Orleans and its rich cultural heritage, specifically the Black Masking Indian tradition. The eight-piece collection pays homage to the artistry and traditions of the Young Seminole Hunters and the Big Chief Demond Melancon, blending heritage with modern streetwear.

Standout pieces in the collection include the Photo Trucker Jacket, featuring imagery of the Young Seminole Hunters in their traditional ceremonial attire, and the Photo Jeans, which showcase similar photography on the 568 Stay Loose jeans. Both pieces are intentionally imperfect, ensuring that each item is unique. Other pieces in the collection include track jackets and pants with mid-indigo washes and cotton fleur de lis prints, crewneck sweatshirts with the same artwork, and baseball T-shirts paying tribute to Southern tablecloth patterns.

“New Orleans is a melting pot of African, Indigenous, and French cultures that have greatly influenced American identity,” says Tremaine Emory of Denim Tears. “This collection honors the sacred traditions of the Mardi Gras Indians while also recognizing their relevance in contemporary culture. The intentional imperfections in our printing process reflect the human touch behind these traditions, something that cannot be mass-produced or replicated.”

The Levi’s x Denim Tears collaboration will be available online globally, in select Levi’s stores, and at African Diaspora Goods on April 4. Check out the gallery above for a closer look at the collection.
